Hike the "Back Way" to the Monastery in Petra

Hike the "Back Way" to the Monastery in Petra

Hike the "Back Way" to the Monastery in Petra

The "Back Way" is a Nabatean pathway that enters Petra from the back (as opposed to entering Petra through the Siq or narrow canyon which is more like the "front door"). The views are out of this world.  To walk the entire way to the Monastery in Petra from camp with a guide is 45 JD.  It takes about 2.5 hrs. The Guide leaves you at the Monastery in Petra.  You can also take a local government 4x4 along the track (5 JD pp) and walk the final 1 hr.  You then take the trail out through Petra to the Visitors Centre.

Hike to Aaron's Tomb

If you need a transfer to and from the start of the Hike in Um Sayhoun Village, then there is also a 10 JD transfer fee.
